Mrs Kenyon and Mr West took 35 Riverdale students to the annual Kind Hearts Event this week. There were 22 Kind Heart schools in the Manawatu area last year, this has climbed to 37 this year. There were just over 820 children at the event.
Mike King, New Zealander of the Year, was the guest speaker, unfortunately he missed his flight so we had to watch him on Skype. He spoke after the importance of looking after yourself and the health of your family. He reminded us that we need to be proud of ourselves and what we do for others.
Riverdale came away with awards for Level 1 'Empowering
Kindness in the Classroom', Level 2 'Spreading Kindness
Across the School' and were one of two schools who received
the Level 3 'Spreading Kindness to the Community award'.
