Wig Wednesday

What a day!  

The school was full of children wearing wigs for Wig Wednesday, our Child Cancer Foundation fundraiser.  

We raised just over $500.

  

  

Ryleigh Carter, and her whanau, were our special guests and attended our Wig Wednesday assembly.

Friday Opt Ins

Today's Opt Ins were fantastic.  

The children had so many activities to pick from.  There was everything from mindful art, card and string games and hair tie making to Indoor Olympics, hut building and bike riding.  

  

 

 

  

 

We were very grateful that the wet weather stayed away.  

What a wonderful afternoon.

Jumping Jellybeans

"Somewhere over the rainbow" was our choice of book today and it was read beautifully by Amon and Oliver.  The children helped their little friends make rainbows with cotton wool clouds.  Another great session!

 

  

Kind Heart Packets

Korbin and Troy bagged up another 18 packets for the PN Hospital today.

Jumping Jellybeans

Today was the first time Riverdale School took part in the Jumping Jellybeans session at Awapuni Library.  

The children encouraged the preschoolers to dance, sing and create and had a wonderful time in the process.  

 

  

Julia and Cate read "The very clumsy click beetle" by Eric Carle to the children and all the children helped the preschoolers make their own click beetle.  

Plans are already underway for our next visit.

 

 

Whole School Opt Ins

What a wonderful afternoon!

Every child at school got to pick the activity they wanted to opt in to and work with children and teachers from all over the school.  We had children playing Rippa Rugby and hanging out in the Outdoor Classroom while others were making bookmarks, paper planes and learning how to use Rakau Sticks.
